The Lewben Art Foundation was established in 2014 by the art patron, collector and chairman of the Board at Lewben Vilius Kavaliauskas and his wife Rita Kavaliauskienė with the aim of making their constantly growing collection of art, now numbering 1,500 pieces and representing more than 300 artists, available to the public.
By creating and initiating various modern and contemporary art projects, and by contributing to them, the Lewben Art Foundation promotes interest in visual arts. The Foundation has already held several dozen exhibitions, published a number of art catalogues and artist monographs.
The Juozas Kavaliauskas Memorial Charitable Foundation was established on 25 September 2019 after the loss of brother, friend, colleague and Lewben family member Juozas Kavaliauskas, who passed away on 3 November 2018.
The goal of the Foundation is to raise public awareness of the issue of children’s cancer, as well as raise funds and aid the recovery of little ones. The Foundation does not allocate funds to families directly. Rather, they use the services of professional organisations that distribute funds based on availability and applications received.
